Examples of events and themes around which you might build programming promoting genre fiction or nonfiction. 

Local happenings: schools, arts community, museums, college or university, business, events center, etc.

Summer Reading Program events for families or with adult tie-ins: CSI or mystery series, organic gardening 

Movie tie-ins: Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer featured with other outdoor adventure stories

Monthly happenings and holidays: Romance books for Valentine's Day, horror for Halloween

Current Events: sustainability/Green/space exploration

Popular themes or hobbies: fiction and mysteries featuring cooking, travel, or needlework
